Privacy Policy

Protecting your personal data matters to me. This website is deliberately kept simple: there is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no embedded third-party content. Below you can find out exactly which data is processed when you visit it.

2. Hosting

This website, including its images and videos, is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”), via the services Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare R2. Cloudflare also acts as a content delivery network and protects the website against attacks.

When you visit this website, Cloudflare automatically processes technical data that your browser transmits, in particular your IP address, date and time of access, the pages and files requested, browser type and operating system, and the referring website (server log files). This data is required to deliver the website securely and reliably and is not merged with other data sources.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in a secure, fast and reliable presentation of this website. A data processing agreement has been concluded with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; data transfers to the USA are also covered by the EU standard contractual clauses.

3. Cookies and Tracking

This website does not set any cookies of its own and does not use any analytics or tracking tools. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies (e.g. to detect bots and protect against attacks). These do not contain any information used for tracking and are stored on the basis of § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

4. Fonts

All fonts used on this website are hosted locally on this website's own server. No connection to external font providers (such as Google Fonts) is established.

5. Contact

Contact by e-mail

If you contact me by e-mail, I process your e-mail address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to answer your request.

Contact form

If you send me a message via the contact form, the data you enter (name, e-mail address, subject and message) is passed to a small program running on Cloudflare's servers (see “Hosting”), which forwards it to me as an e-mail. Your message is not stored on the website itself.

E-mail provider

My e-mail address is hosted by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland (iCloud Mail). Messages sent to me by e-mail or via the contact form are therefore stored in my iCloud mailbox. More information: apple.com/legal/privacy

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR – my legitimate interest in answering inquiries. Your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for this purpose, unless statutory retention obligations apply (e.g. for business correspondence).

6. Social Media Links

This website contains simple links to my profiles on Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. These are ordinary links, not embedded plugins: no data is transmitted to these platforms when you visit this website. Only when you click a link will you be taken to the respective platform, where its own privacy policy applies:

Where processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. I will then no longer process your data unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing.

Right to lodge a complaint

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
